Problem - Restaurant

Based on extensive and multifaceted research, the Designer shall formulate a proposal for a multi-use solution for the Bates Mansion, Stone & Franklin, in Tucson, with emphasis on a large restaurant.

Solution

The proposal provided for dividing the building into three separate areas: an office, a large restaurant, and two residences. Bring all spaces up to code, while carefully restoring old adobe walls and wooden features. Restaurant: reconfigure front & back of the house, up-date all installations, provide optimal staff/guest circulation, and upgrade finishes and furnishings for an up-scale customer base of professionals, business executives, and participants in downtown cultural events.

This educational project was awarded 3rd place in the ASID Design Excellence Award 2012-2013, Student Commercial Design.
